LEARN MORE ABOUT PREVORA
Prevora is a two-stage, sustained-release, high-strength antiseptic coating applied by the hygienist to all surfaces of all of the teeth, up to and including the gum line. The procedure is shown at in this clip.
This drug has undergone two Phase III randomized controlled clinical trials of community-dwelling adults at high risk of tooth decay. Both studies reported a significant reduction in dental decay compared to placebo over one year’s treatment and observation. These studies are the basis for Prevora’s approval for the prevention or reduction of dental decay in high risk adults by regulatory authorities in Canada and the EU.
Prevora has also undergone 10 years of testing and observation by Canadian dental professionals to further evaluate safety, efficacy and patient acceptance. This real world experience shows that Prevora patients who are at high risk of poor oral health, commonly go for years without dental decay and with healthy gums. These patients report an absence of side effects, including staining of the teeth, and are loyal to the Prevora treatment plan.
The Prevora treatment plan involves up to 5 applications in the first year of the treatment plan to get dysbiosis under control, and semi-annual single applications thereafter. Each application takes approximately 20 and 30 minutes. Prevora has a bactericidal effect for up to 3 days and an inhibitory effect against the re-emerging dental plaque for months.
