History

The roots of CHX are at the University of Toronto where researchers originated the concept of treating the bacteria causing dental decay with a strong, sustained-release antiseptic.

CHX commercialized this discovery with years of pre-clinical and clinical studies, manufacturing studies and regulatory approvals for Prevora to become the first preventive treatment for dental decay in high-risk adults.

Over the past 10 years, Canadian dental professionals have used Prevora to prevent cavities and to treat gum disease proving how cost-effective and compelling Prevora is to older, high-risk adults.

Most recently, Prevora has been spurred by the social movement to Healthy Aging and by Prevora’s ability to integrate preventive dental care into community settings such as a seniors’ centre, a hospital, a medical practice and long-term care facilities.
